The End of an Era

Caroline James started preschool at Central Baptist Bearden when she was 3.  I remember feeling proud, sad and worried about how she would like being away from mommy all day!  James and I picked her up that afternoon, and she said "School is Awesome!"  She loved it from the start!  She adjusted much better than I.  She developed friendships, found bravery on the playground and learned a great deal.  I loved when she would just start singing a new song or saying a new prayer that I had never heard.  After a couple of years of packing the lunch box, reading the teacher notes and hearing the hilarious stories of the days social events, I am sad that I will not be taking her there any more.  It really was a wonderful school.  What a precious time in a child's life, when they first learn their individuality. James and I couldn't be more proud!

We missed the real deal because we went to the beach, but I was able to come hear them sing before we left.  It was precious!

BEACH 2013

James and I took the kids to Hilton Head last week.  Vacation with them is so much fun!  Our weather was beautiful.  We ate lots of yummy food, drank some beachy cocktails and laughed A LOT!  Caroline and Wilson love having fun!  She loves to sing to him, tickle him and get him to giggle.  It is so precious!  The kids and I love having daddy with us all the time!
Caroline has loved the beach for a long time, but when we first took her as a baby, she was pretty timid about the water.  She is very brave now and wants to jump over all of the big waves!  She made sand castles and flew her Barbie kite.  We feel like she is growing up so quickly!  She was polite at all the restaurants, ordering all of her meals.  She navigates the ipad better than I do.  She remembers EVERYTHING!  And her laugh still melts our hearts!
Wilson was fearless on the beach!  He still wants to hold our finger when he walks, but goes straight into the ocean without pausing!  He watched his sis, ate a bunch of sand and walked and walked and walked!  We really didn't need to take our chairs down there, but every day, James lugged all of the gear in hopes that we would sit and stay a while.  This was not a sit and relax kind of trip, but it was fun!  Wilson is an absolutely wonderful baby!  What a trooper!  He was good at dinner every night.  He took great afternoon naps allowing us to sit on the balcony and enjoy the ocean.  And he is just so darn cute!  That smile is a dream come true!  l
We are so blessed!

We took this baby pool thinking that Wil might be content to sit in it and play.  That lasted half a second:)

This is one of our favorite things to do at the beach.  Caroline loves to run and jump on the beach in the evenings.  Twilight is such a soulful time of day.

This is the perfect photo that sums up our trip, baby spoon in one hand and a margarita waiting for me! I couldn't ask for more!
